Bangkok’s Best Coffee Shops

These Bangkok coffee shops are the best in town, serving excellent coffee, providing relaxing atmospheres, and drawing you into the rich Bangkok lifestyle.

Roast Coffee Shop Bangkok

Bangkok is a bustling city known for its rich food culture that’s manifested in the form of street food and cafes. Whether you’re looking for a pick-me-up before your next destination or just want a calm place to relax and recharge, we’ve hand selected the best cafes in the city for this article.

Roast

The Roast cafes highly value transparency when it comes to their coffee and love to tell the stories of coffee farmers they partner with. Make sure to try their signature iced espresso cubes with milk, a fun drink that becomes stronger as the ice cubes melt. Of the two locations, the vibe of Roast at the Commons is slightly hipper than the shop at Em Quartier, but both stops are sure to offer warm service and great coffee.

Rocket

A Nordic café with a brand new location at Sathorn. Try the house blend of beans, an offering with a rich aroma and smooth aftertaste. No matter what you order, you’ll be amazed at the aesthetics and style of the drinks. Definitely don’t come here without trying Rocket’s signature bottled cold brew. Pastries and desserts are available all times of the day.

Chu Chocolate and Coffee Bar

Chu has two captivating locations, one at Chong Nonsi and one at Sukumvit. If you didn’t guess by the name already, this cafe specialized in chocolate, so make sure you get the chance to try a chocolate-based drink. If you go in the morning, their breakfast menu is decent, but I suggest you splurge and have one of their chocolate desserts instead. I won’t tell anyone that you had chocolate for breakfast.

After You

This chain café’s coffee may not blow your mind, but the desserts are to die for. I cannot recommend the Bingsu, Shibuya Toast, and Banana Crumble enough. If you come at peak hours, you may find yourself waiting in line for up to half an hour. Don’t let that scare you away though – the line exists because the desserts are incredible.

Casa Lapin

Casa Lapin has a very comfortable and chill vibe and is best spot on this list for a slow afternoon cup of coffee. This chain is also known for its homemade cakes, and since there are five locations, you’re never more than a few minutes from a refreshing dessert. Each location has an updated magazine stand for you to browse and enjoy, as well as free Wi-Fi.

Greyhound

Greyhound has a modern artistic interior and a very extensive dessert menu. The thriving chain has 12 branches across Bangkok and serves some of the city’s highest quality coffee. They brew a slightly lighter roast than most of their competition, producing coffee with a crisp, lively acidity and sweet aroma.

Ceresia

Ceresia is a café with an abundance of natural light and space. The café serves a variety of homemade light bites but doesn’t offer full course meals, so don’t go with an angry stomach. The location is so comfortable and welcoming that you won’t want to leave.

D’ark by Philip De Bella

D’ark is spacious and beautifully decorated, inside and out. The atmosphere is right for a relaxing chat as well as an afternoon of work and offers a much-needed area of rest from the shopping busyness Phrom Phong area.  There is alfresco seating available as well if you’d like to sip a cup while you enjoy the breeze.

26 Café sits right in the middle of Siam Square. The setting is minimal, yet clean and inviting, providing a great place for a chat or a moment to relax. The free Wi-Fi makes this place a popular place to get some work done.

Kaisen Coffee Co

Kaisen Coffee Co’s staff is warm and welcoming, but it’s the spiral staircase to the second floor that really livens my memory. The coffee is excellent, giving the coffee from other shops a run for their money.
